Start living your life in the present. Forget the regrets about the past and anxieties about the future. Simply enjoy what’s happening now.
These statements are something which we often hear. But my question is
“Does ‘present’ exist really?”
Say, you are reading this now.. In fact you are not.. Since light rays take a finite time to bounce from the letters to your eye. Since the difference is infinitesimally small, one cannot recognize it. So when you read a word, you are reading it as it looked sometime in the past. Or each letter you read is in the past.
So how a present moment can be there..?
Or is it based on the perception..?
Somewhere I read like the “shortest time a human can perceive is nearly 0.1 second of visual experience”.
So can the 0.1 second time-frame define the present?
I was having this past, present, future confusion since my childhood. While I am thinking, it’s just NOW. But oh, no. after a moment it has become past. ..What’s all this.. Makes me utterly confused.
😦
I donno. Am I overthinking?
Or is it like “Present is boundary between past and future with no real existence of it’s own”
I think I need to investigate more on time, more on Einstein’s relativity of space and time.
