After all, we are physical beings, driven by a physical brain.
So how comes a software embedded in the brain connecting us with the outside world?
Who feeds the program into the hardware?

There has to be someone conscious who is put into illusion. Without consciousness, we would have no experience at all — and that would mean no experience of reality or illusion. consciousness is not an illusion.Awareness put into action. That is what consciousness is for me,means being in touch! Touching the inner and outer, self and other. I’ve read this topic before in Quora and gitaDaily. I love to explore such topics..

Actually, I think that most people think that the signs of consciousness ARE an illusion, which is WHY so many of us are out of touch. We are told that our creativity, synchronicity, visions, etc are just coincidence or delusion…. when in fact, that is our consciousness attempting to emerge.
I know thought about that, too.
Our brain is so powerful that it can actually trick us so we have to be full on conscious to make sure we’re in control all the time… speaking of which is why we need to realize that mental health maintenance is as important as physical health maintenance.
I suspect that our brain is more of a filter and a gatekeeper than the seat of our consciousness. Is main purpose could be to keep us focused on immediate physical survival and shield us from making a greater connection to our greater self on the level of spiritual awareness. I am just starting to work on my next book, tentatively titled “Transformational Awakening.” As I continue my blog will be shifting towards topics like spirituality and consciousness, if anyone is interested in such topics I reviewed Wayne Dyer’s “Manifest Your Destiny” recently…

Ah yes, the matrix hypothesis.
As a Christian, I do feel that there’s some kind of untouchable dimension to our lives – heaven thank you.
I don’t believe that the material realm encompasses our entire existence, because if it did…well, it kind of sucks.
It means there’s a ceiling to human understanding, and it means there’s nothing beyond the world as we know it. Life loses its mystique and renders your existence mute.
To break the ceiling between the world we know and the world we don’t?
That’s not necessarily a good thing..regardless, consciousness is a question that has zero impact on how we our lives. Letting it affect you would be like…letting the knowledge that the world will end in two hundred years will affect you.
Definitely not illusion. Look around and you will find people unaware about their goals motives and surroundings. Consciousness is a link I will say, between you and your surrounding which finally leads to to the realisation that everything is just inside you. It’s all about decoding life .

Its a very interesting theory actually.
We have Active Conscious and Sub-Conscious Minds. The first one helps us to survive and live.
The second one, connects us spiritually to God and the Universe from where we came.
All this is the work of The God, who created you.

Excellent discussion! Consciousness is not an illusion, it’s the other way round. Consciousness creates matter. We are its materialisation/ manifestation in space and time. Now it doesn’t mean we are some finished product of the soul, merely one kind of it’s various kinds of manifestations, like branches spanning out in all directions but being part of the same tree structure.

From what I understand, our spirit exists in many dimensions of existence simultaneously. One part of the spirit could be human, another an energy form without physical structure and yet in another something completely different. Very nice post Akhila. Conscious is an illusion. But the day we realize who we are then conscious becomes a reality and that is what we all are. Then that consciousness merges into Oneness. Such miracles can only be done by nature, while the religious brigade would attribute it to God. How do animals know how and what to eat or how to reproduce? They don’t attend finishing schools like we do.
Our brain signals are designed to catch the most intricate signals, if only we allow them that. I have no expertise in deciphering the conscious, unconscious or subconscious. I would just like to believe that there’s no real Matrix. 😮
Yes, such questions drive us crazy. We realize that everything around us is to distract us from the reality.
Consciousness is real and everything else is Maya. We see outside world the way our senses experience it not the way it is in real. So we all have different points of view because our way of sensing things is different. Consciousness is about seeking within and decrypting the encrypted hidden knowledge in our brains. But our world have become so materialistic and selfish that the knowledge has been lost. There is no peace in the world as all stand on their own point of view and argue it to be the truth, where as it is just the partial truth.

Evolution will proceed and artificial intelligence will make the human race unnecessary. We need food and sleep , we need to breathe oxygen and a reasonable temperature to exist. We have a life span but artificial intelligence will be immortal . This supposes we overcome the present difficulties of climate and antibiotic resistance. If we fail we will return to the dark ages.
Maybe the resistance over everything will happen on a day
