Dependency Planning

Boss: Hello guys, please ensure to complete the assignment by tomorrow 4 PM. I have a client meeting, starting within an hour and there after I will be flying to xxx. So please let me know if you anticipate any bottlenecks ASAP.

Team: Oh!.. This is the usual work we do. So what’s going to be troublesome.. Let us check it after the party.

And once the team started the work, they realized the missing link which could be filled in by their boss only and hence couldn’t proceed further as boss was unavailable by then.

And the scenario is not merely limited to a project assignment. It is repeated even in our daily life too.

We are social beings. And we cannot live in isolation. If we wish or not, we are bound to many dependencies all around us.

Still, many a time we fail to know and plan these dependencies. And it leads to waiting time or dishonoured consequences. If you are fond of queuing time, please skip reading.

Otherwise, think parallel and ask one.

“Is there a dependency associated?

Will there be waiting time if dependencies are not cleared out?

How can I avoid the dependency factors? ”

And finally get rid of the dependencies and make it an independent variable

Dependency planning but am wondering is it possible to not get dependent on anyone and be self dependent in this era where all are connected in one or the other way ? For everything its difficult to be independent.

you are right.. never we could be independent completely in this materialistic world.. but why not think about this dependency in advance and make it a better time, by saving your time in a queue

…. (contd)… we need to manage the dependency. Thats when harmony is created… Like musical notes! I think, you also meant similar concept by stating “independent variables” (sorry, unknowingly pressed send on the phone during the first comment). Good Akhila.

yes, we cannot stay in isolation..being a social being we are dependent on many things, many others.. but we need to be well aware on these dependencies, and have better planning, just as i given in that example

Can’t agree with you more:) Perfecto! For the planning you can adopt principles of lean, agile etc also right;) (on a lighter n serious note!!)

Yes, reducing dependency factors tend improve efficiency. Alternate thought : sometimes dependency creates better working together. Rather than removing and become ” independent”

Well, I don’t know how to tell about reducing dependencies but surely we should always be independent for everything and if not, we must always try.

Whenever my manager said I am leaving office early today, my team mates used to pack their bags.😂😂😂 And our manager was very cunning, he used to check IM status every 10mins after reaching home, to check if others are at office or not. He even used to call the office landline every hour. 😂😂😂😂😂
